Prohibition for 7 more days, will be finalized today

 The coronavirus infection situation and the recommendations of the Department of Health are reportedly being extended to another round of restrictions. However, in some cases it may be relaxed. It will be finalized at the inter-ministerial meeting on Tuesday, official sources said.


To this end, the government has convened an inter-ministerial meeting to review the Covid-19 situation. The online meeting will be held on Tuesday (August 3) at 11 am under the chairmanship of Liberation War Affairs Minister AQM Mozammel Haque. The meeting will be attended by 12 ministers and state ministers, 16 secretaries, principal staff officers of the armed forces, inspector general of police, top officials of various intelligence agencies, director general of health department and IEDCR director.


A letter in this regard was sent to the concerned by the Cabinet Division on Monday (August 2). With an eight-day break during Eid, the government imposed strict restrictions from 8 am on July 23. It will end at midnight on August 5. In the meantime, export-oriented industries were opened from August 1. But as the Corona situation has not improved, there have been hints of tougher sanctions.

Officials from the Cabinet Division and the Ministry of Public Administration said the new rules would open a limited number of public and private offices after the ongoing ban. And public transport may be introduced to a limited extent. Export oriented industries will be kept open.

The Department of Health has recommended that the ongoing lockdown be extended for another 10 days to prevent coronavirus infections. On July 30, the Director General of the Department of Health, Prof. ABM Khurshid Alam said, "We have recommended extending the ban for another 10 days."


He said, "As the infection is increasing, how can we handle this infection?" Where to place patients? Is it possible to handle the situation if the infection continues to grow like this? There is no doubt that the situation will be very bad. With these considerations in mind, we have recommended increasing the restrictions. ’





State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said on July 31 about the recommendation of the Department of Health, we must have it in mind. Because we have to coordinate everything. That's why we say take a moment. I will clear the matter on 3 or 4 August.
